The brew unit in all Jura machines constantly moves up and down when you make a coffee. At the bottom of the brew unit, a rubber seal or o-ring as its sometimes called, heats and cools as well as being stretched. Over a period of time the o-ring becomes brittle and breaks, which prohibits water from pouring over the coffee which ultimately ends up in the grounds bin.
